Jacinta Giles is an emerging visual artist whose work focuses on destabilising viewers’ traditional modes of perception to explore the unfixed and disorientating fragility of memory.  Producing experimental photo-based images, her work positions the viewer as witness to the transient nature of remembrances and raises questions about the slippery shift between fiction and reality in our hyper-mediated world. As her work does not automatically read as photography, it pushes the boundaries of traditional notions of the medium.
